Fall will be sneaking in sooner than we know, and with it comes the annual AIDS Walk for Life on September 21. This year there is a new national sponsor (yay!) so it’s actually the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life. Whatever you call it, BC Persons with AIDS Society hosts it, and you can join the PWN team to help us raise money for housing.
Do you come home and toss your keys on a shelf? Imagine no keys. Do you lock your door at night, ready for a good rest? Imagine no door to lock, no privacy, no familiar bed…. You get my point.
This is the reality for so many people who are shakily housed in single room occupancy (SRO) hotels or not housed at all- couch surfing from one friend to another, or for some, sleeping in the park. It’s going to get colder soon.
Housing is a fundamental part of health. Join the PWN team at the Scotiabank AIDS Walk and help us house women. All the funds raised for Positive Women’s Network are put towards our subsidies for women living with HIV. Decent shelter provides space, security, and basic needs such as clean water and heating, which support wellness. Adequate housing is not just a housing issue but a health issue, and a prevention issue as well.
Visit the BC Persons with AIDS Society website to join PWN’s team (when you register, you must join PWN’s team, or we don’t benefit from the money you raise), or contact us if you have any questions.

thank you for the last blog. It sure was really refreshing.
had to comment and say that I really like the design on your site here. Did you create this theme yourself or did you purchase it from someone?
